Warning: These materials are only to be read and used by students ready for the Level. To qualify you have to have attested Clear and done Advanced Level 2, Pre-OT Two. The student should also be a trained Solo-auditor.

Key Words for Pre-OT Three

This is the short-list of definitions for understanding Ron Hubbard's OT III Data. A full glossary for the Level is also included in the manual and should be used regularly while reading the materials.

BODY THETAN (BT): 
A body-less Thetan stuck to the Pre-OT or the Pre-OTs body. "One's body is a mass of individual Thetans stuck to oneself or to the body. One has to clean them off by running Incident Two then Incident One. It is a long job, requiring care, patience and good auditing. You are running Beings. They respond like any Preclear." "There are NO Body Thetans who cannot be audited and exteriorized."
2. "For the purpose of clarity, by BODY THETAN is meant a Thetan who is stuck to another Thetan or body but is not in control."
3. "Body Thetans are just Thetans. When you get rid of one he goes off and possibly squares around, picks up a body or admires daisies. He is in fact a sort of cleared Being. He cannot fail to eventually, if not at once, regain many abilities. Many have been asleep for the last 75 million years. A Body Thetan responds to any process any Thetan responds to."

The large circle illustrates the  Pre-OT as a Thetan. The smaller gray circles  are BTs attached to the  Pre-OT and his body.

CLUSTER (CL): 
Basic meaning, Group or bunch of the same sort of things - such as grapes. 
A Cluster of BTs:  Many BTs closely associated believing they are one individual. "There are Clusters of Body Thetans who think they are ONE Body Thetan and so can't run Inc 1 or Inc 2 as a group as they have differences."
In other words: you may have 10 Thetans or more in one Cluster, each basically with their own viewpoint but unaware of this individuality. 
2. "A CLUSTER is a group of Body Thetans crushed or held together by some mutual bad experience."

INTENTION SPAN: 
The Solo-auditor has to be able to focus his intention (and attention) narrowly and project his intention into one BT or Cluster at the time when auditing on Pre-OT III. You could say it is a special form of TR-1 that a Solo III Auditor has to be real good at. By keeping his intention span narrow the Solo-auditor prevents his auditing comm cycle to hit other BTs and Clusters around, which would cause by-passed charge, as they might try to run an incident that are not theirs. (See also Assessment TRs, TR 8-Q that gives a way to drill that as a TR.)
Running more than the one Thetan intended comes from a too wide intention span, meaning more than one BT and Cluster will in error receive the  auditing command and seek to comply.

PLANET: 
A heavenly body orbiting a star. It is cold relative to stars. Some planets can sustain life.

STAR: 
A huge heavenly body. A star is very hot and usually emanates light. Most stars have planets in orbit around them. Other stars than the Sun are visible from here with the naked eye. Their planets are not.

Our Solar System. The Sun is a star. The  shown planets orbiting that star are: Earth, Mars and Jupiter

UNIVERSE: 
is defined as a "whole system of created things." There could be, and are, many universes and there could be many kinds of universes.
The physical universe (or MEST universe) is characterized and defined by the laws of physics. Organic life in the MEST universe has as its only goal to survive. Even objects can be seen to have survival (as persistence) as their basic goal. These laws are true in all parts of the physical universe, but does not necessarily apply to other universes. There were other and earlier universes to the MEST universe. The universe prior to this may have been The Magical Universe.
A Thetan or theta in any universe seems to have the basic goal to create.

INCIDENT TWO (Inc 2):
 According to the materials an incident that took place 75 mill. years ago. It was a major disaster in the Galactic Federation where the supreme ruler, Xenu, captured and transported billions of Beings to Earth to exterminate them through refined implanting methods. 

4th DYNAMIC ENGRAM: 
The 4th Dynamic is the individual's urge of survival for mankind and as part of mankind. The 4th Dynamic Engram refers to Incident Two that severely damaged mankind of this planet and 75 other planets in their efforts to survive as a species.

INCIDENT ONE (Inc 1): 
The very first engramic incident on an individual's existence in the MEST Universe. Finding Incident One in a Being (typically a BT) tends to release that Being from the effects of its Bank and as a result we have a Clear of sorts. Incident One took place 4 quadrillion years ago. Incident One is usually run on BTs after they have been taken through their Incident Two. This follows the well known principle of Engram running that finding and erasing the earlier similar incident takes care of later ones and the whole Chain of incidents. Incident One was not a "Big Bang" incident but a type of 'initiation ceremony', one Thetan at the time.

BASIC: 
The very first incident on a Chain of incidents, such as on an Engram Chain. When Basic on a Chain is contacted and erased the whole Chain will erase or As-is.

BASIC-BASIC: 
The very first Engram on the whole Time-track.

Note: Incident One occurred about 4 quadrillion years ago plus or minus. It is very much earlier than Incident Two which occurred only 75,000,000 years ago (a bit less). Incident Two is only peculiar and general on this planet and nearby stars, whereas Incident One will be found on all Thetans in this universe. 

BLOW: 
A moving away. In auditing OT III it usually refers to the release of a BT or Cluster from being in a fixed and stuck position in relation to the Pre-OT or his body and simply freely move away.

IMPLANT:  
1. An Implant is an intentional action of overwhelming the Being (Thetan) with an idea, Goal or other significance. The overwhelm can be done by various means, including use of drugs. The most common method of overwhelm on the Time-track applies some kind of electronics or electro-chock.
The Implant is a way to install a fixed idea in a Thetan's mind by artificial means. It is done in an attempt to gain control over that Being's behavior.
2.  An Implant is shocking someone with an electric shock and saying something at the same time. Also it could be making a loud noise and at the same time saying something, doing this on a patterned basis.

R6 BANK (or simply R6): 
The Reactive Mind. On Pre-OT III taken to mean the totality of the Incident Two Implants. It will be found that many ingrown human ideas, institutions and convictions are based on this content of the R6 Bank. Incident Two contains 36 days of Implants which under one is called R6. 

R6 stands for 'Routine Six' which is a process that enabled Hubbard to get an insight in all this. The process is not part of Pre-OT III or the other Pre-OT Levels but is simply how he got to know about all this and thus the name stuck.

BIG NUMBERS: 
Here are the order of magnitude of big numbers as used in this manual. This is the American system. In Europe the system is different. See also Appendix 'Very Big and Small Numbers'.

ONE MILLION: 10⁶. This is a one followed by 6 zeros: 1,000,000. 
ONE BILLION: 10⁹ . This is a one followed by 9 zeros: 1,000,000,000. 
ONE TRILLION: 10¹². This is a one followed by 12 zeros: 1,000,000,000,000. 
ONE QUADRILLION:10¹⁵. This is a one followed by 15 zeros: 1,000,000,000,000,000.
